The internet cafe where the incident took placeIn an unfortunate incident, an 18-year-old teenager from China met with an untimely death while unplugging his charging mobile phone from a computer at an internet cafe.
This incident took place in Wuhan, China. Xiong Xuan was a regular internet user at the local cafe and he worked as a factory worker at a garment factory, according to his brother Xiong Feng.
This incident took place last week on April 15 when Xiong visited the internet cafe after finishing his shift at work. His elder brother Feng was also present at the scene.
Feng said: “He let out a shout when he pulled on the cable and then his foot made contact with the steel legs of the table.”
Feng told the local reporters that his brother was seated at his usual seat and after being done with his computer work, he reached to unplug the charging cable when this incident took place.
The elder brother also recalls that his brother started foaming at the mouth and fainted. Sadly, nobody at the internet cafe came to help him. “He was obviously hurt, but none of the staff helped,” he told local reporters.
Later Feng called his uncle and took his unconscious brother to nearby Panlongcheng People’s Hospital.

Usage of Tor Browser To Access Facebook Crosses 1 Million Mark

Facebook has announced that the number of people who use Tor browser to access the world’s largest social media site, Facebook, has crossed the one million mark this month in April for the first time in the history.
Tor, also known as the ‘Onion Router’, is known for providing anonymity over the internet world while surfing a website. This network technology is designed to boost the privacy of a web user by encrypting and randomly routing Internet connections via a worldwide network of volunteer relays. It makes harder for individual web connections to be traced back to a particular user.Tor browser facebookEarlier, there was a little technical-some problem to connect Facebook through the Tor access browser. Owing to that, Facebook created a dedicated onion address for Tor access back in October 2014. The creation of the dedicated Onion address was aimed at making it easier for users to connect via Tor.
This address also helped in flagging network routes traffic by site security infrastructure.
Some users like to use Tor because of different security and privacy reasons and identification of the physical location is one of the major reasons for the same. Tor’s routing system via a network of relays disguises the user’s physical location also cloaking that location data from Facebook.
On the other hand, Tor has also confirmed this number. However, to maintain privacy, here is an advice from Tor:
"When using Facebook website over Tor, Tor Browser is in charge of that data, so it is anonymous. Of course, someone may post a status update saying that they are at some restaurant, for instance, and that would de-anonymize them."

Microsoft Is Hiring Linux Folks For A Secret Open Source Unit

microsoft loves linux azure cloudOver the course of past few months, we have seen something unusual happening at Microsoft. The company, whose former CEO once labelled Linux as a cancer, is now embracing more Linux everyday.
Another report of the same nature comes from the house of The Register. The website reports that Microsoft is recruiting some penguinistas for building a unit that will sell open source wares on Azure Cloud.
Microsoft recruiters have been contacting the employees of different Linux firms and interviewing for them some “open source practice”. More specifically, Redmond is looking for Linux folks with knowledge in Linux, Docker, Ansible, and Chef.
One reader, also an employee at a well-known Linux firm, told The Register that he took part in an interview.
He said that Microsoft interviewer told him that the company is very keen to make new relationships “as a result of a change of attitude towards open source technology”.
In another similar development, Microsoft recently hired Oracle’s Mr. Linux to head the open source projects.
The new strategy to bring open source technologies along with its Azure package is a part of Microsoft’s steps to avoid the losses to Linux and preserve the sales of Windows.

Remember How Blue Screen Of Death Crashed Bill Gates’ CES Keynote

How does it feel when a product of your own company doesn’t live up to your expectations failing to perform during a demonstration? Ask Bill Gates. He might’ve suppressed his anger behind a cheeky smile but theblue death did project its shadow upon him during a keynote for Windows Media Center in 2005.
I am always curious about reading such stories. Recently, I came to know about this video which is a compilation of on-stage tech fails during Microsoft’s 2005 CES Keynote. So, what exactly happened is that Bill Gates was delivering a demonstration of the Windows Media Center on Xbox. An air of embarrassment was ambient as the software froze a few times and Bill was only left with a smile on his face.
Microsoft customers are used to having buggy experiences on their machine with Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) and screen freeze situations. But this one is a little bit difficult to digest as the co-founder was left speechless. “And now nine people are being fired …. digitally fired” – Conan O’Brien used his humor skills to light up the situation as Gates was busy pressing the Ok button to start the slide show and it didn’t work.
Few seconds later, Gates gave it another try and guess what, it still didn’t work. “Is there anyone who’s gonna do anything or should we just move on,” said Conan. “Did I mention there’s gambling in this town, Las Vegas? Feel free to hit the tables. You can come back when we get this thing working.”
Later in the video, a presenter blames the internet connection for acting as a hurdle while talking about the recording feature of Windows Media Center. And finally, another presenter gets blown off the track due to the Blue Screen of Death or ‘blue death’ as I like to call it. All he can do now is to make you imagine that he is customizing his car using some tool. He says that there is no need to explain this thing as he received feedback, “that was kinda slow part of the demo”.
