Skarp: laser operated razor!!!!

Laser innovation has made considerable progress throughout the decades, having made jumps from sci-fi to science actuality inside of the medicinal field, assembling, and even as a “death star” laser beam to help open the universe’s secrets. In any case, the most recent laser-empowered idea is something the normal customer can all the more promptly appreciate. The Skarp Razor may turn into the first-ever individual shaving instrument controlled by a laser.

The normal method for removing hair for the most part includes sharp steel edges, a layer of shaving cream, and water to flush. In spite of the fact that this technique has worked for eras, the colleagues behind the Skarp Razor trust it’s conceivable that the same should be possible with laser operated razor . They guarantee that the Skarp can give close and smooth shaves without the scratches, cuts or skin bristliness that peril our customary shaving schedules.
111-500x333 Skarp: laser operated razor!
Models of the Skarp are developed out of 6061 aluminium with the natural look of shaving razors. Be that as it may, rather than an edge of steel, the Skarp utilizes a solitary fibre optic wielding a low-power, class 1 laser. Morgan Gustavsson, who is knowledgeable about the field of restorative and corrective lasers, expresses that his research has prompted the disclosure of a chromophore in human hair that can be trimmed/broken when hit with a specific wavelength of light. The Skarp Razor is intended to focus on those particular particles upon contact, securely uprooting the hair without a powerful laser yield or any enduring impacts.

Not at all like some different routines for laser hair removal, the Skarp Razor not warm up or soften hair, dispensing with blazes or hostile scents. It should work like a sharp edge, trimming any shade of hair against all skin sorts and colours, paying little heed to age, sexual orientation, or race. Furthermore, given how the Skarp could be prepared and fuelled by a solitary rechargeable AAA battery, it can significantly diminish the waste connected with dispensable razors, sharp edge cartridges, and shaving cream canisters. Skarp is the first of its kind laser operated razor .
111-500x333 Skarp: laser operated razor!
The Skarp Razor is upheld by a patent and given our current comprehension of therapeutic science and innovation, it appears to be very feasible for it to go from configuration to reality. Be that as it may, one likely obstacle will be execution. Keeping in mind the end goal to succeed in the eye of numerous benefactors, the Skarp Razor will need to trim hair with comparable pace and viability as of standard steel sharp edges, all with a laser that can securely work off a solitary AAA battery for up to a month of standard utilization. A few whiskers and stubble get pretty darn thick, and it’s yet to be perceived how well the Skarp handles such masculinity.
The Skarp Laser Razor is at present subsidizing on Kickstarter, having raised 265 percent of its US$160,000 objective in only four days, with an additional 23 days left to go. Those inspired by joining the positions of benefactors on this task can vow $159 for a solitary Skarp Razor, which is wanted to retail for over $200.

ASUS Waveface Concept

The trend is already set for the werable technology in the market. One by one the top companies are putting forward there newly conceived models and prototypes to prove their worth and grasp in the field of technology. After the recent introduction of Apple iWatch, Moto 360 and LG G Watch we can formulate the fact that this trend is going to bring more candidates into the arena. ASUS has also stepped up on the platform with its Waveface Concept and produced the concept of its bracelet watchphone. Though the prototype is ready but it will not hit the market soon as it is very expensive and not so profitable at the current stage.
asus-waveface-300x257 ASUS Waveface Concept
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. and trading under that name, is a Taiwanese multinational computer hardware and electronics company based in Beitou District, Taipei, Taiwan. ASUS is the world’s fifth-largest PC vendor by 2013 unit sales after Lenovo, HP, Dell and Acer. ASUS appears in BusinessWeek’s “InfoTech 100” and “Asia’s Top 10 IT Companies” rankings, and it ranked first in the IT Hardware category of the 2008 Taiwan Top 10 Global Brands survey with a total brand value of $1.3 billion.  Asus has lived up to the expectation of its name with its WaveFace concept.  Waveface is in fact a series of concept devices, created by ASUS and including the Waveface Casa TV, the Waveface Light, a touch tablet and the Waveface Ultra watchphone. ASUS Waveface Ultra is a wearable cellphone concept that can be worn around the wrist, just like a bracelet. This device is a pretty trendy accessory and it uses a flexible OLED display, being also based on gesture control and touch interface. There’s also a cloud system supposed to work both with the watchphone and the tablet pictured below, that also features a flexible display. All of these devices, even the Casa TV, are able to access documents and all sorts of content via the platform setup by ASUS. A brilliant idea that we’ll hopefully see turned into reality, soon!
asus-waveface-300x257 ASUS Waveface Concept
The Waveface Casa is a large widescreen display that acts as both entertainment center and internet portal. When not in use, a flexible, decorative cover obscures most of the screen, only exposing small areas that display contextually-relevant information. Equipped with a touch-sensitive screen and backed by a soft, flexible material, the Waveface Light is an interface to the cloud that can be used in a conventional screen-keyboard configuration or as a flat, single-screen tablet. The Waveface Casa is a TV-like home computer machine, serving as an information terminal. Design-wise it is similar to Waveface LIght except for the fact that when it is opened, you can use it to watch video or handle more complex data. When closed, it would show only simple information like time and weather.
asus-waveface-300x257 ASUS Waveface Concept
The Waveface Ultra is the most portable of the lot. It has an iPhone like design, and can be used as a hybrid phone and a portable computing device. Interesting thing about this device is that thanks to its flexible OLED design you can wrap it around your wrist but still have a single surface when handheld.

Oh, no. Samsung's new phone bends just like an iPhone?

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

The Galaxy S6 Edge allegedly cracks under pressure. SquareTrade/YouTube screenshot by Chris Matyszczyk/CNET

In the annals of great disasters, Bendgate has its place.

Surely you remember the iPhone 6 Plusbeing bent by the bare hairy hands of experts, and even by machines?

Surely you wept as you saw it disfigured like a night on the town after one too many banana daiquiris.

Naturally, competitors saw this and chuckled. Samsung even released a videothat allegedly proved its Galaxy Note 4was not for bending.

The same doesn't seem to be true with the Galaxy 6 Edge. The big brains at SquareTrade decided to put this lovely new phone to the test. What they discovered is that it became unlovely with exactly the sort of pressure that did in the iPhone 6 Plus.

The testing video shows that one leg of an offensive lineman -- I'm estimating it weighs 110 pounds -- not only bends the Edge, but also gets its glass to crack.

Moreover, the Edge broke apart at 149 pounds of pressure, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus survived until 179 pounds.

I imagine that one or two Apple fanpersons will be giggling to their Easter Bunnies at this news. They might even crow to their Edgier friends that their gadget cracks under pressure.

Cop caught going ballistic on Uber driver apologizes on TV

Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that's taken over our lives.

Detective Patrick Cherry. Did his TV appearance garner sympathy? NBC New York screenshot by Chris Matyszczyk/CNET

When you've already made a filmic appearance and earned the disdain of many, is it wise to appear on TV to try and sway opinion?

For Detective Patrick Cherry of the New York Police Department's Joint Terrorism Task Force the answer was "yes."

Cherry is the detective caught in the act of berating an Uber driver by the driver's passenger, Sanjay Seth. Seth posted the video to YouTube, where more than 3 million people have enjoyed it.

Cherry made racially tinged statements, angrily slammed the driver's door and behaved in such a nasty manner that New York Police Commissioner William Brattontook away his badge and gun and declared: "No good cop should watch that video without a wince. Because all good cops know that officer just made their jobs a little bit harder."

The incident occurred after the Uber driver made what Seth called a mild gesture of frustration in reaction to Cherry allegedly parking in front of him without using his blinker.

However, appearing on NBC New York,Cherry insisted that the driver had reacted angrily. Which isn't perhaps the best way to present an apology. Cherry did say: "I apologize, I sincerely apologize." He added, though, that his intention in stopping the Uber driver was to "clarify the situation."

But surely as far as the Uber driver was concerned, Cherry was an ordinary citizen. He was in an unmarked car. What needed clarification? Cherry told NBC that there was mutual hand-waving between the two. Some might think that to be an ordinary day on the streets of New York. Cherry clearly did not.

He explained: "When I walked up, I was uptight. I wanted to know what the problem was. I felt his driving actions were discourteous and impolite and when he stopped he said, 'I'm not going to give you anything.'"

Still, countering alleged discourtesy with ranting, questioning how long the Uber driver has been in the US, mocking his accent and slamming the driver's car door might not be the ideal police-manual etiquette.

New Moto X1 Leaks Show Optical Zoom & Wooden Back‏

The Moto X1 looks to be the successor to Motorola’s original Moto X, the phone that kickstarted the change in Motorola’s management, brand and design ethics. The successor looks to be a rather large iteration on the first, adding higher-end specs and a new Super Camera.
Motorola will keep the look and feel of the Moto X1 largely the same as before, it will sport a new metal frame and should be slightly larger, but will still come with the customisable backs and front facing speakers.
On the back of the Moto X1 sits a new camera, it looks rather large and that could be due to the optical zoom Motorola is looking to add. Only a few phone camera have added optical zoom to the device, the Samsung Galaxy Zoom is one of the most well known.Moto X1
Internally, Motorola is looking to step up the pixels on the 5.2-inch display to 1080p, almost identical to the Nexus X rumored specs. The Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU will power the device, along with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
Software on the Moto X1 might include some sort of 3D recognition, similar to Amazon’s Kindle Phone. This does not sound promising, considering early reports of the Kindle Phone peg sales at less than 40,000 worldwide, abysmal for Amazon, who have spent years on R&D.
The Moto X1 should support Android 4.4.4 when it comes out, with a quick switch over to Android L, once Google releases the new update. Motorola is working on the Nexus X, so they might be able to test Android L and get it even quicker on the Moto X1.
Motorola is holding an event on September 4 in Chicago to launch the phone and some other items running Android. There are quite a few events happening in September, including Apple’s own iPhone 6 press event on September 9, making it quite a packed year.

Google Glass to Get Intel Chip in 2015

Reports are circling that microchip manufacturer, Intel, will be suppling a new chip for a the latest version of Google Glass. The new version of Glass will be available in 2015, according to news reports. The new chip will replace the current one that is made by Texas Instruments.  Intel will be promoting the new Glass to be used in the workplace, i.e. in such places as hospital and factories. The information that was reported by the WSJ  did not provide any details regarding the chip.
Also, Google has not immediately responded to requests for more information. The usual ‘no comment’ came form the guys over at Intel Japan too. Google said it was marketing the Internet-enabled head-mounted display for business use, with a program called Glass at Work, earlier this year.  Google also said that employees of oilfield services company Schlumberger are currently using Glass in order to improve safety and efficiency.
Meanwhile, Intel have been moving into the wearable field in recently by working with other companies. At this years’ CES, the firm showed off some smart earbuds, that are capable of measuring a runner’s heart rate. Wearables appear to be the next logical step for Intel; Earlier this year they purchased high-end health tracker firm, Basis Science. Intel’s XMM6321 3G cellular radio was also incorporated into MICA, a fashion bracelet which was unveiled recently.
Back in April, Google Glass was updated to the new Android OS, KitKat. A key benefit from this upgrade was the increased battery life capability. Google also gave Glass a facelift in an attempt to make the device more attractive to consumers. Glass was made available to early adopters in 2012. it took ages for the device to reach everyone else. Google finally released the wearable for public sale in the U.S. in May of 2014 with a price tag of $1,500.

These Smart Earrings Monitor your Health

Earrings are great and all, but they really don’t do all that much, do they? I mean they look pretty and are a great accessory, but when it comes to function, all they really do is hang there until they’re removed. We should have known, though, with pretty much everything else out there getting a smart upgrade, that earrings probably wouldn’t be too far behind. And here’s what a man by the name of Ravender Saini came up with: smart earrings that are completely able to monitor their wearer’s heart rate, calories burned, and fitness activities. He originally came up with the idea after he discovered that a lot of women weren’t all that comfortable with fitness bands, etc., and he wanted to come out with something that would appeal to the female sex. He ultimately came up with a working prototype which he has dubbed the Ear-O-Smart.
These Smart Earrings Keep An Eye On Your Heart Rate, Etc.
If you’re wondering how a pair of earrings can check and monitor your heart rate, you’re definitely not alone. The studs of the Ear-O-Smart are actually imbedded with all kinds of sensors which help to track the blood flow from around your ear. The studs then transmit that information via Bluetooth to a smartphone where it can be tracked and monitored.
Saini is hard at work now trying to come up with a longer lasting rechargeable battery.
